I hope y’all had the absolute best weekend! It finally decided to be sunny and beautiful for the entirety of a weekend, for once, here in Nashville….and trust me, I soaked it allllll in! As I mentioned in my last post, this past weekend was my birthday weekend (CHEERS!) so I just wanted to take a little time to tell you all about what I did and where/how I celebrated my 23rd!
To continue in my new Next Stop series, I wanted to talk about my pre-birthday picnic that my boyfriend and I did on Thursday night at Arrington Vineyards. I know that this stop is a fairly local one (TwentyOne Pilot fans, anyone? 😜), for those that call Nashville home, but I still wanted to include this on this series, since it’s totally a destination worth checking out, if you ever have the time!
For those of you that don’t know, Arrington is a vineyard owned by Kix Brooks, from the country duo, Brooks and Dunn. It’s been around a few years and is such a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing afternoon or evening, whether you’re celebrating anything big or not.
We started out our evening by purchasing our favorite drink that you can only get here, Arrington’s Raspberry Wine. It is Heavenly. If I could drink it every day and not get sick of it or die, I absolutely would. We then found ourselves a little picnic table in one of the little enclosed rooms they have out front, it was still a little too cold to be outside, sadly 😦 Here we munched on a few goodies he had brought along for us to enjoy, fairly typical picnic foods like, cheese and crackers and hummus, tuna and veggies; all sorts of yumminess! After we finished eating, we walked the grounds a little bit, taking in all the beauty and fresh air.
We finished our evening by swinging on a little porch swing they had attached to a tree out in the gardens. It quickly got too cold for us (me) so we then headed home for a relaxing remainder of the evening with my family. It really was the sweetest way to ring in this new year of life!
So let me say, whether or not you have a big event to celebrate (like your 23rd birthday!); if you are in town and have time to visit this place, DO IT. It’s a very manageable trip from the downtown Nashville area, and trust me, you won’t regret stopping by!
