Hi lovelies!
Happy Tuesday! I hope your pre-Memorial Day work week has been treating you well. If you’re anything like me, though, you are SO DANG READY for a long weekend. CAN I GET AN AMEN?? For anyone who is in Nashville, and not going to party on the beach for this year’s Memorial Day celebrations, I wanted to write a little bit about JJ’s Wine Bar in Franklin! The cutest little wine bar in the cutest little town outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Nashville.
I think this place is the perfect hangout place if you still don’t have any plans for your Memorial Day weekend, or if you’re ever just looking for a fun place to get your girl friends together or if you happen to be planning a romantic evening with your hunny this summer; this place is great for any and all events of that nature!
My boyfriend and I have been trying our best this year to make it a point to date more. We both are very quality-time driven people and because of that, we are very intentional with the time that we are actually able to spend together, which sadly isn’t nearly as much as I would like for it to be 😦 But! Life update! I did just quit my part-time job, so I should have a little more time now to devote to seeing him and all my other pals…and write this blog!, which I am just over the moon about!
But anyways, we have been planning out dates, at least one “big” one every month, and we switch off every month. So, the one for this month was my responsibility to plan. I had heard AWESOME things about JJ’s from my coworkers and other acquaintances but neither he nor I had ever gone to try it out so when I suggested it, he was all about it; so that is exactly what we did!
We really didn’t know what to expect when we walked in that evening but the guy working was so helpful and really showed us the ropes on how the whole place worked. He showed us how to pour our own glasses of wine from a little dispenser, that honestly reminded me of a soda machine…how cool is that??!! Also, not to mention that you’re charged by the amount you pour, so you pretty much can just go back and keep getting more….and more…..and more…..and more 😛
We then found a nice seat outside, since it was a beautiful evening, with our glasses of wine in tow–I got the Moscato and Curtis got some type of Red Wine that I had never heard of. (The picture above shows my view the entire evening….minus Curtis, I think he left to get more wine at this point…I wasn’t playing board games by myself, I promise!)
He and I both were pretty hungry so we also decided to try out their food. And Y’ALL. I got their homemade hummus and veggies and pita and I am not sure I have ever eaten anything so delicious in my life….it was seriously incredible. Not to mention, I am like obsessed with bread and I truly have never had better bread than the pita they brought out that night. Curtis got a caprese flatbread which also looked so so good! I sadly couldn’t try it because of the cheese but he said it was amazing!
This was such a great date night spot for us. We loved the grown up (wine and dine) feel to the evening also paired with the childish (board games) feel. It is the perfect kind of paired activity for the two of us! I would highly, HIGHLY recommend this local gem for any and all of you to check out the next time you’re looking for a fun, less hectic and non-crowded night out! Or if you’re looking for something close to home to take your out-of-town guests this Memorial Day weekend. It was so much fun!
XOXO
