Hi lovelies!
I hope you’re having a great start to the week thus far! Mine’s been alright…but I have been feeling the weight of my anxiety a bit more in the past few days than I have in awhile so I’m just doing my best to keep that at bay while writing a little bit here, so thank you all for giving me the opportunity to do that.
This weekend, despite my anxiety, I had a lot of fun! Saturday morning I got up and around early to enjoy our pancakes and then headed out to an open house at my dad’s school to check out potentially taking some classes; which is equally exciting as it is scary!
However, I ended up leaving that open house a little early because of a very upset stomach, which was a bit of a bummer…but I’m glad it held out long enough for me to talk to a few people and actually feel like I might have a part of my life figured out for once (WHAT?!).
Once Curtis got off of work that afternoon, and my stomach had settled a bit, we ventured out to the grocery store and got a few last minute ingredients for our dinner. We came home and made THIS for my family…which y’all, this is one of those recipes that I am positive is going to be good no matter how many times you make it/eat it. And it is so EASY! It’s the absolute perfect kind of recipe if you ask me.
After our dinner, Curtis and I decided to check out the Williamson County Fair that had just started (it runs through August 12, if you’re still wanting to go!) We only got about 2 hours to walk around the fairgrounds, pet some animals, eat some ice cream (him…not me…#lactoseintolerance #:( ), and listen to all of the high school gossip we could handle before they closed up for the night. The entry ticket was $7/person, so I’m not sure I’d recommend going & paying that for only 2 hours, but we still did have a fun evening regardless. 🙂 Definitely go check it out if you have the time over the next few days!
Here are a few snapshots from our evening:

Sunday morning Curtis and I got up and met up for church in Nashville. I hadn’t slept well and honesty hour here, I was not in a good mood before church, through church, after church…..most of the day I was feeling grumpy and I couldn’t quite figure out why.
It wasn’t until after we had eaten lunch at EiO and the Hive, a cute little vegan-friendly restaurant over in West Nashville, that I succumbed entirely to why I hadn’t been feeling well nor happy; I spent the entire rest of the afternoon with a splitting headache. Thankfully, Curtis lives close to where we were hanging so I was able to spend much of my afternoon curled up at his place, trying to nap.
Can we talk about how cute this is though??? Snapped this at lunch before my decline:
I finished out my Sunday evening with family dinner at my home, with Curtis and my family. We made some delicious pizza mushrooms (remind me to write up the recipe for those for y’all one of these days cuz oooohhh–weee! They are INCREDIBLE), and just enjoyed one another’s company. I didn’t eat much…instead I just tried to nurse my headache with a cup of coffee, and really, that did enough for me to be able to feel less like death, and didn’t make it so I couldn’t sleep last night, so I would consider it a win! Although, 99% of the time I’m not sure I’d recommend using coffee as a drug in this way…but for my situation, it really did help.
And with that, the end of another fun (yet slightly sickly) weekend for me!
What all did you do this past weekend?! Let me know in the comments below!
XOXO
