Hi lovelies!
I hope you’re having a lovely, lovely day.
I’m sorry this post is getting to you a little late this weekend….I truthfully was having trouble deciding what to write about haha. Every option on my “Blog Ideas” list just wasn’t doing it for me this week. But then I remembered this great place and thought it’d be worth mentioning to y’all!
I wanted to talk a little bit about Harpeth River State Park. I’ve been a few times already but it’s seriously so dang pretty, I need to share it with you all…& talk about all the fun outdoorsy things you can do when you plan your visit!
The first time I trekked the half hour outside of Nashville to check this place out (all the way back in JUNE AH), my boyfriend and I were on one of our monthly dates and decided to check out Foggy Bottom’s Canoe Rental and spend part of the day out on the water.
After starting off my morning sobbing in my car because y’all, again, anxiety is just so dang real, I didn’t particularly have high hopes for this adventure but we seriously had SO. MUCH. FUN. once we got there.
This area is BEAUTIFUL and getting to view all of it from the water (while getting some good exercise and some sun!) was just the best thing. Would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good active date day (obviously once it warms up again!)
Just a few weeks ago, I went again for the second time.
This time, to hike!
It was a beautiful sunshine-y day…..seriously so perfect for a morning hike. I don’t remember the name of the trail we took but it was again just such a beautiful place to walk around and explore a little.
How freaking beautiful is this place?!
I may have mentioned this before but my boyfriend and I are trying to incorporate more active dates into our arsenal of hangout times and this place, for us, has been the best to do that! I love that you can hike, or canoe, or go swimming or running, or just go for a nice leisurely walk with your pup….there are so many great active options here; so you don’t have to feel so bad when the second half of the date consists of a hamburger and ice cream 😛
But for real, y’all need to schedule a time to make your way out to this park one day soon (or once it warms up a bit–come on Nashville)!
You absolutely won’t regret it.
I honestly haven’t found a hiking/canoeing spot in the area that I love more than this one!
Hope y’all have a great last day of the weekend! Mine is going to be spent in front of the fire with a hot cup (or 3) of coffee 😉
XOXO
