Hi lovelies!
I hope you’re having a lovely Monday. The first day of the new year.
Everything just feels so shiny and new and I just needed to say something about it because I love it.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a very resolution-driven human around this time of the year. BUT along with my actual NY resolutions, I like to pick a word as a theme for my year. This is a concrete thing that I can base my entire year off of. And yes, I may struggle at being intentional, relaxed, motivated, etc. (whatever that word is for you) in one moment but having a word as my focal point, I am able to circle around and just try to do better next time, the whole year through.
2017’s word was intentionality.
2018’s word is simplicity.
Simplicity in all things. Dreams, thoughts, relationships, friendships, expectations, and even in things as simple as what I wear, how I decorate my space, and in my writing.
I find I have a tendency to miss out on the simple, beautiful things because I accidentally distract myself with the complicated.
Simplicity is a call to declutter and clean out the mess inside all of us. Making room for the important things, the Godly things, the light things; and letting go of everything that feels too heavy. There is so much beauty in not complicating things and it is my intention (and my hope) to recognize that more and more this year.

What is a hope that you have now that we’re in the new year?
