Hi lovelies!
Happy Tuesday!
Now that according to the calendar it is officially officially winter (Nashville is really taking that to heart these days *brr*), I thought it might be fun to chat a little bit about my evening routine, during these colder months.
For any of you that have been following along here for awhile, you know I have documented my Saturday morning routine already and thought it might be interesting to chat a little bit about my wintertime nighttime routine, since y’all loved so much chatting with me about what I do on Saturday mornings!
Kristin Johns (another one of my major girl crushes) just made a video like this on her YouTube channel (linked here). I actually had the idea for this post before seeing that video but am now extra excited to make it after seeing it because she’s just so cute & I love kinda living someone’s life along with them like this. So if you’re like me in that way, grab a seat and let’s get to it!

5:00 P.M.
We’ll get the boring stuff out of the way first…I get off work around 5 and drive home in all the fun Cool Springs traffic 🙂 (I will say, now that Christmas is over, that drive has become a BREEZE…so very thankful for that haha.) I usually call my boyfriend or a friend I haven’t talked to in awhile, on the drive home–I love this catch-up time, regardless of who I end up getting to chat with!
5:20(ish)-6:00 P.M.
Get home and chat with my mom very briefly about my day. Then I head upstairs and change out of my cute work clothes and into my PJs (literally yes, I am in my PJ’s 99.9% of my evenings by 5:30 and I LOVE IT). Once I’m all cozy, I’ll lay in bed and chill a little…I need this time to be able to de-stress from my day and honestly to talk to no one. This time alone is VITAL for the introvert inside of me.
6:00-6:45 P.M.
Once I feel energized enough, I head downstairs and actually talk with my mom about my day. I usually try to help her make some dinner, depending on how far along in the process she is that night. Once my dad gets home, around 6:15, we eat some dinner and just sit around the table and chat about what everyone’s day looked like, as we munch on our food. Once we’re done eating, we all then collectively help clean up the kitchen, this is also when I usually get my lunch ready for the next day…it’s a simple thing to do but I love having the extra 15 minutes in the morning, before moving into the living room.
6:45-9:00 P.M.
Once we’re in the living room we do one of a few things, we will maybe play a card game or just lay in front of the fire with a movie on. Many nights during the week, I’ll go work out on our stationary bike during this time, depending on how tuckered out I am from the day. Often I make myself a bowl of popcorn and some tea around 7:30 or so and munch/sip on that until it’s time to head to bed; those are my favorite nights. 🙂
9:00 P.M.

Once 9 P.M. hits, my family scatters haha. My parents go do their before-bed yoga, my sister heads up to do homework, and I usually go and let our dog out before heading up to bed. Once we’re back inside, Sadie and I head upstairs to get ready for bed.
I start by taking my contacts out and then washing my face (I use a mixture of coconut oil to get makeup off my eyes, and the Neutrogena fresh foaming cleanser all over my face. This combo really ensures I get all my makeup off at the end of the day; however the cleanser does leave my face a little dry, especially in the winter, so I am actually looking for alternative skincare products that are made specifically for sensitive skin..so if y’all have any suggestions for me, let me know please! I’m kinda clueless haha.
I then put my glasses on and brush and floss my teeth. I finish this section of the night by swabbing a little castor oil on my eyelashes–a little well-known secret to keeping your lashes growing long and strong. Then I head into bed.
Sometime between 9:30-10:00 P.M.
I begin my in-bed bedtime routine with a little prayer journaling. I love ending my day with this because it encourages me to focus on things I’m thankful for from that day, things I am hopeful for in the days to come, and to think on the lessons God has been teaching me. Once I’m settled in bed, I’ll usually just scroll through Instagram one last time before I sleep OR watch a YouTube video if I’m behind on any of my regular videos that I watch. I finish this time by setting my alarm for the next morning, sending a goodnight text to my boyfriend, and then it’s lights out!

Alright, there you are sweet friends, my typical (winter) nighttime routine! Now it’s your turn….
COMMENT BELOW WHAT YOUR TYPICAL EVENING/NIGHTTIME ROUTINES LOOK LIKE!
And if you like this kind of post, tell me what you’d like to see next, maybe a Sunday after-church routine or a “day in the life” post that I promise I’ll try to write it so I don’t seem TOO boring 😉
XOXO
