Hi lovelies!
How crazy is it that month #2 of 2018 is already almost over??
Insanity, I tell you!
I actually had planned to post my February Favorites today…but I didn’t get it done in time haha. Plus! I’ve had quite a few people (that come to visit my home/that follow me on Instagram) ask me about this wall hanging I made a couple months ago and I thought y’all may also be interested in finding out how fun and easy it is to make!
So, we’ll do this post today…and you can be looking out for my monthly favorites post to make it your way this weekend!
So let’s get to it!
Things you’ll need:
A long, fairly thin Tree Branch (I literally found mine while out on a walk one day!)
A few Spools of Yarn
A pair of Fabric Scissors
About 2 hours of free time
Step 1:
Begin by cutting each piece of yarn 2x as long as you’re wanting your entire piece to be, I would recommend cutting somewhere between about 4-6 ft. each, just so if you decide you wanted to cut it afterward, you’ll have a little wiggle-room to do so!
Step 2:
Take your first strand of colored yarn and fold it in half.
Place the looped end underneath your branch and let the open ends of the yarn, rest a few feet below.
Step 3:
Grab the looped end of the yarn and wrap it around the open ends, over top of the branch, making a tiny little knot. Tighten the yarn around the branch as much as possible. Which should look something like this:
Step 4:
Continue this process with each color yarn you have, until your branch is entirely filled with yarn, and you’re happy with the result.
Step 5:
Have some fun with it! Try braiding a section of the yarn/cut into the yarn to make a fun detailed pattern on the bottom of the design/add some gold plated beads to each of the sections for a pretty, unique addition. I haven’t done any of these things yet with my design but I’d love to try braiding a section or two, to add a little extra flair!

And voila! The finished product!
Are you planning on trying this fun DIY project out for your home?!
Let me know!
Also let me know below if you like these DIY posts?? I love writing them and probably still will write more regardless (lol) but always like to know y’all’s feedback!
SEE YOU IN MARCH! 👋🏻
