Hi lovelies!
Happy Tuesday afternoon! Yes, I realize I am a few hours late on getting this post up, and for that I very much apologize. I did absolutely no blog work this past weekend and thus, I got a little bit behind this week. However, I’m only a tiiiiny bit late, so don’t hate me forever please 🙂
For today’s post I wanted to chat about something I do often but never really talk about/write about…and that is watch YouTube videos! I watch them mostly when I do an evening workout or just as I’m laying in bed before I fall asleep (not a great habit, I know). I put together this fun little list of the YouTubers/YouTube channels I watch most often (and love!)
I did try my best to rank these in order because there are definitely some I get more excited about than others. I do really enjoy them all though, so if you’ve been looking for some new people/channels to check out….try watching a few that sound interesting in this little list of my top 10 below!
- Kristin Johns. Kristin’s channel is all things girly and sunshiney and sweet and happy. I absolutely LOVE her internet presence; it’s exactly what I would want mine to be, assuming I were also an “influencer.” Some people don’t like how high her voice is, my sister is one of them, but I seriously think she’s the cutest human. Her channel focuses mainly on beauty, fashion, lifestyle-type videos, with an occasional vlog. She hasn’t posted a single video that I haven’t watched, and loved.
- Jess Conte. Jess’s channel is pretty similar to Kristin’s…which is why they both hold the #1 and #2 spots on this list. Jess is a beauty/fashion guru and I love seeing what her and her husband are up to (they post about this more on their combined vlog channel that you can find here if vlogs are more your thing. They are also the people I’m pictured with in this cover photo!) Truly, I think I could watch her read the dictionary and love it. She has the most beautiful Australian accent that just makes everything 10x more enjoyable to listen to, regardless of what she’s talking about haha.
- The Skin Deep. This channel is a new favorite of mine. I literally just discovered it about a week ago, maybe. The premise of this channel is to promote healthy human interaction. In their top series {The AND}, which I have been watching almost religiously, they have two people (who are dating, engaged, married, exes, friends, parents and kids, or are strangers) come on and ask one another very difficult but interesting questions to learn more about them/tap into their feelings a bit more than they would just having a normal, surface-level conversation….and y’all I am LIVING for it. It’s incredibly neat to see how different humans relate and this just really gets into the nitty gritty that I love so much about raw human interaction.
- Zoella. She is the most well-known one on this list but that’s for good reason. Zoe has been around basically since the beginning of YouTube, making chatty videos about her life. She now has multiple channels along with a beauty product line throughout Europe and has published a couple books in the last few years. She posts lifestyle/fashion/beauty on her main channel and then does more of the vloggy videos over on her second channel MoreZoella….if y’all don’t like long videos, though, stay far away from this channel haha. Recently her vlogs have been averaging around 40 minutes. I love that but I know many of you may not!
- Marcus Johns. I’m not a huge fan of Marcus’s vlog-style videos but his “Yard Boys” Documentary videos are easily one of my favorite things on the Internet. I have mentioned them on the blog before in a favorites post but they deserve another mention on here because truly, I’m not sure I’ve ever watched something so intriguing in my life. I also enjoy watching his and Kristin’s shared channel, that you can watch here, if you want to see a little more of their coupley videos!
- Tess Christine. Tess is another beauty/fashion guru. I love watching her “A Week In My Life” videos, just to see what kinds of things she gets up to in a week. However, I think she’s probably most well known for her ‘Get The Look’ videos where she takes photos/outfits that a certain celebrity posts and then shows you where/how to create a similar look but not spending an arm and a leg to make it happen. Her most recent ‘Get The Look’ was for Olivia Culpo and I thought she nailed it!
- Psych2Go. This is an interesting channel that I discovered around the same time that I found The Skin Deep and I am loving it!! It’s basically a cartoon-style channel that each video unpacks X number of facts about some facet of psychology. One of the most recent ones I watched was ’10 Signs You’re An Old Soul’ and it literally went through 10 things people (like me) experience if they’re an old soul, with a cartoon drawing depicting each sign. I think it’s so neat to learn little things like this about ourselves which is why Psychology anything is just fascinating to me; but especially when you can learn something in as little as 3 minutes about yourself or someone else you may know. Love this channel!
- Leif + Jaci. You guys may know Jaci as JaciMarieSmith on Instagram, the gal with the most perfect feed and who has probably sold a million dollars in sales of her photography presets because yes, they are THAT good. If you haven’t checked out her page, do it here! I again haven’t been watching these guys (Jaci and her husband, Leif) for that long but I have LOVED seeing all the neat places they go travel to and the shots they use in their videos are SO creative! I have really enjoyed spending some time in their area of the YouTube world.
- Dan Howell/AmazingPhil. If you have ever watched a video done by either of these guys, you’ll know why they are combined into one on here. They’re basically the same human but are also best friends/roommates/weirdos who do random crap together and I. LOVE. IT. Dan was one of the first people I started watching on YouTube years and years ago and is one of the only people I still watch regularly. His (and Phil’s) channels are basically places to go if you’re ever having an existential crisis and just need to feel like you can experience it with a couple of 30-something British guys.
- Aspyn Ovard. She’s been around on YouTube for awhile as well, but I just started spending more time on her channel and have enjoyed seeing all the cool things she gets into. Her and her husband, Parker, travel A TON, so I always love seeing where they’ve been gallivanting around the world to and always make mental notes of neat restaurants/places they go to check out for whenever (if ever) I get to go visit those places, too!
What Youtube channels am I missing on this list??
